Explore Thailand's pioneering past in wireless technology at The Wireless House, a new cultural destination in One Bangkok

One Bangkok has opened The Wireless House, a restored tribute to the historic Saladaeng Radio Telegraph Station. This new cultural landmark tells the story of Witthayu Road ("Wireless Road") and the origins of Thailand's first radio telegraph station, established in 1913.

The Wireless House showcases the evolution of communication technology in Thailand, from its beginnings in tranquil rice paddies to the bustling commercial hub of today. The exhibition highlights the station's role in connecting Thailand directly to Europe and explores the development of radio broadcasting.

"One Bangkok is committed to preserving the area's historical significance," says Charintip Choomuenwai, Head of Strategic Branding & Creative Solutions and Head of Art & Culture of One Bangkok. "The Wireless House is a testament to this heritage, showcasing the history, art, and culture of the area through a permanent exhibition."

Through collaboration with the Fine Arts Department, conservation specialists, and archaeologists, The Wireless House has been meticulously restored. Visitors can explore its rich history through excavated artifacts and immersive displays that blend modern storytelling with historical preservation.

The restoration began in 2016, when the station’s foundations were uncovered during the early stages of One Bangkok’s development. This discovery led to a collaboration with the Fine Arts Department, resulting in the excavation of over 1,500 artifacts that reveal the area’s rich history—from naval operations to its transformation into a bustling city district.
