Dusit Hotels and Resorts signs to manage its first hotel in Malaysia – set to open near Kuala Lumpur in 2026
Dusit Hotels and Resorts announces Management of its Maiden Hotel in Malaysia, "ASAI Gamuda Cove", offering guests seamless access to eco-friendly attractions
Dusit Hotels and Resorts, the hospitality arm of Thailand’s renowned Dusit International, has inked a Hotel Management Agreement with Malaysia’s leading property developer, Gamuda Land. This collaboration marks the management of ASAI Gamuda Cove, Dusit's inaugural hotel venture in Malaysia and Gamuda Land's first foray into the hotel industry.
Anticipated to open in the first quarter of 2026, ASAI Gamuda Cove will be strategically located near Kuala Lumpur, offering guests seamless access to eco-friendly attractions like SplashMania Waterpark, Discovery Park, and Paya Indah Discovery Wetlands, all within a scenic 40-minute drive from the city center.
The 280-key ASAI Gamuda Cove hotel, operating under Dusit's distinctive lifestyle brand ASAI Hotels, is the first hotel signed under Dusit’s expanded ‘ASAI Tropical’ model. This model, tailored for properties in areas of outstanding natural beauty, promises to connect travelers with authentic local experiences in vibrant neighborhoods. The hotel will boast a variety of thoughtfully designed rooms, an infinity pool, multiple dining venues, expanded event spaces, and family-friendly room options.
Designed to reflect the local identity and seamlessly integrate with the lush surroundings, ASAI Gamuda Cove will be situated in the southern region of the Gamuda Cove development. Surrounded by greenery and adjacent to a 90-acre Wetlands Arboretum, the hotel will offer a sense of community and direct access to nature.
The Gamuda Cove development underscores its commitment to sustainability with an innovative e-tram network—the first of its kind in Malaysia—connecting guests to various hotspots while minimizing motorized vehicle usage and reducing carbon footprint. Regular community-based activities and events will provide guests with a taste of local culture and promote responsible tourism.
ASAI Gamuda Cove is poised to cater to both domestic and international tourists seeking eco-tourism activities, with an expected annual visitor count of one million. Mr. Gilles Cretallaz, Chief Operating Officer, Dusit International, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting the unique and unforgettable experiences the collaboration aims to deliver. Mr. Eusoffe Chua, Chief Commercial Officer, Gamuda Land, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the alignment of values between Dusit and Gamuda Land in creating interconnected living, working, and recreational spaces within the meticulously planned Gamuda Cove township. With this venture, Dusit's expanding global portfolio continues to contribute enduring value to its partners and the communities it serves.
With the theme 'Be Local Anywhere,' Dusit currently operates three ASAI hotels: two in Bangkok, namely ASAI China Town and ASAI Sathorn, and one in Kyoto, Japan."
Dusit’s property portfolio currently spans 19 countries and comprises 56 hotels operating under Dusit Hotels and Resorts and approximately 240 luxury villas under Elite Havens. More than 60 Dusit Hotels and Resorts are in the pipeline worldwide.
