World-class Krug Champagne names Nusara ‘Thailand’s First Krug Ambassade’
Pairing menus between Thai cuisine at award-winning Nusara and world-class champagne from France marks a special night
The special pairing menus between Thai cuisine and a world-class champagne are exclusively created to celebrate a special night for Krug Champagne, a premium champagne brand from France, and Nusara, a Thai fine dining restaurant by Chef Thitit ‘Ton’ Tassanakhajorn, is newly crowned Thailand’s First Krug Ambassade.
Krug Ambassade is another dining experience Krug has given to its customers to highlight its passion for crafting exquisite menus from around the world that can be paired perfectly with Krug’s champagne. With its unique taste and aroma, Krug has been known among worldly enthusiasts as one of the most sought-after champagnes for its highly complex production process. The Krug Ambassade title is celebrated among 206 restaurants from 28 countries on 5 continents across the world, with only 7 restaurants in Southeast Asia, including Nusara.
Each year, Krug selects a simple ingredient for Krug Ambassador Chefs to turn into exclusive menus, and this year, Krug names ‘lemon’ as the ingredient of 2023 to represent liveliness and well wishes. Lemons have a gentle sour taste with a fresh aroma and rich nutrients, as well as being a great appetite stimulant. Chef Ton, therefore, can create well-balanced Thai menus that include lemons and go well with Krug’s champagne.
"I feel like Krug has been my love at first sight, and I’ve been a big fan of Krug’s champagne all along. I often look for quality champagnes from Champagne and end up choosing Krug for its unique, luxurious taste as well as its timeless and classic elegance. Krug also inspires me to create Thai menus that complement Krug’s champagne well," said Chef Ton.
To honour Krug Champagne, Chef Ton creates exclusive menus with 11 courses that have lemon as an ingredient to serve distinguished guests in this special Thailand’s First Krug Ambassade event, such as Smoked King Mackerel, Blue Swimming Crab Curry, and especially Hokkaido Scallop with sweet chili paste and lemon which is the highlight menu of the event.
This celebration of Nusara, Thailand’s first Krug Ambassade, is organised in collaboration with Diageo Moët Hennessy (Thailand) Co. led by Ms. Kanokkarn Ingram, the Marketing Director who has also welcomed distinguished guests at the event. The event surely marks a guarantee that Nusara’s menus, paired with a specially-crafted champagne, will enhance everyone’s dining experience at this specially-established Nusara Restaurant at Maharaj Pier.
