Singapore's Spectacular Light Festival Returns: i Light Singapore 2025 Set to Illuminate the City
i Light Singapore (iLSG) returns from 29 May to 21 June 2025, to illuminate the city of Singapore.
Get ready for a dazzling experience! As Singapore celebrates its 60th birthday, the stunning i Light Singapore festival lights up the city again from May 29 to June 21, 2025. This annual event transforms Marina Bay and surrounding areas into a vibrant canvas of light art, bringing people together and promoting sustainable living.
Organised by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) and presented by UOB, Asia's leading light festival will feature captivating installations not just at Marina Bay, but also at the returning South Beach site and, for the first time, new locations along the Singapore River and in Raffles Place.

Under the theme "To Gather," inspired by the colour red in celebration of SG60, the festival showcases 17 brand new light art installations by 20 artists. Expect a variety of activities designed to connect people from all walks of life, creating new memories and encouraging conversations about a more sustainable future.
Mr. Lim Eng Hwee, CEO of URA, highlights the festival's focus on collective action, stating it will "illuminate Marina Bay and serve as a focal point where diverse individuals, groups and ideas converge to shape a more sustainable future together." He invites everyone to be part of this immersive experience.

The festival offers exciting, interactive installations. At Marina Bay, "Take a walk through the meadow with me" features illuminated flowers made from recycled acrylic, responding to visitors with light and music. You can even take home a piece of the art by upcycling offcuts into personalised charms. Marina Bay Sands hosts "Piano Walk," turning its Event Plaza into a giant interactive piano where steps create melodies.
Venture beyond Marina Bay to discover new sites. Along the Singapore River, "Reverse Waterfall" at UOB Plaza creates a mesmerizing illusion, while the "Bridge of 1,000 Dreams" on Cavenagh Bridge showcases illuminated bamboo sticks reflecting Singaporeans' aspirations. These two installations remain on display until July 20, 2025. Mr. Wee Ee Cheong, Deputy Chairman and CEO of UOB, notes these works symbolise UOB's shared growth with Singapore.

South Beach returns as a satellite site with installations like "Saulux," where wind transforms into light and sound within swaying willow twigs, offering a unique connection with nature. "This is Not a Screen," made from recycled electronic waste, challenges perceptions of reality as visitors interact with polarised screens.
Adding to the excitement is the return of GastroBeats, the popular festival village at Bayfront Event Space from May 29 to June 22, 2025. This lively hub offers food, music, retail, and pet-friendly zones, including a new activation, "Let's Trouble The Water!", encouraging action against marine pollution. GastroBeats provides a space for everyone to gather, forge connections, and create new memories.
i Light Singapore 2025 runs daily from 7:30 PM to 11:00 PM, with extended hours until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. Admission is free, though some programmes may have charges. Find more details at www.ilightsingapore.gov.sg.
