Michelin-Starred Culinary Delight: Vanderveen Chef Takes Over JAM JAM Eatery & Bar at ASAI Bangkok Chinatown

ASAI Bangkok Chinatown hotel in the heart of the city’s renowned Chinatown district, just a short walk from Wat Mangkon MRT station, is bringing an exciting culinary collaboration to Bangkok with Chef George Kataras – former owner and Chef de Cuisine of the Michelin-starred Vanderveen Restaurant in Amsterdam.

From December 7 to 11, between 7pm and 9pm, the hotel’s JAM JAM Eatery & Bar will host Chef Kataras as he crafts an exquisite eight-course tasting menu, skillfully highlighting the vibrant tastes and enticing aromas of local ingredients through masterful culinary techniques.

Hailing from Athens, Greece, Chef Kataras embarked on his culinary journey at the age of 21 by attending culinary school in Paris, France. His international career then took him from the UK to Denmark, the USA, and the Caribbean before settling in Amsterdam, where he achieved the prestigious Michelin star for Vanderveen restaurant in less than two years.

Specialising in a mix of North European and Mediterranean styles of cuisine, Chef Kataras focuses on produce-driven, bold, and minimalist cooking – with generous amounts of creativity in curating comforting and recognisable dishes.
