UNIQLO launches first collaboration with Studio Ghibli to mark its fist decade in Thailand

        UNIQLO Thailand announced the opening of #My style, My ghibli, Let's lose our way, together, a major exhibition of Studio Ghibli works, on February 11, 2022. The joint exhibit with Studio Ghibli takes place at the CentralWorld shopping complex in Bangkok, where the first UNIQLO store in Thailand opened in 2011. UNIQLO Thailand will also launch a commemorative UT collection featuring works from the exhibit, and hold a stamp rally and other special events.

         In anticipation of the exhibit opening, UNIQLO Thailand held an event at CentralWorld and revealed the collaboration and the UT collection.

        Studio Ghibli Producer Toshio Suzuki joined via videoconference to talk about the backdrop to the collaboration, while local photographer Kanyada Prathan, who contributed many of her valuable works for the exhibit and the UT collection, took the stage at the venue to help enliven the event.

          Toshio Suzuki, Producer for Studio Ghibli commented: "Thailand is a country that I have a deep personal attachment to, having visited repeatedly through my interactions with Kanyada. I feel a strong personal connection with the country, so I am deeply moved for Studio Ghibli to hold its first exhibition in Thailand, together with UNIQLO. Kanyada's photos of a magical journey to Pak Thong Chai are a highlight of the exhibit, which I hope adults and children alike will enjoy, along with the UT collection."

          Yoshitake Wakakuwa, CEO of UNIQLO Thailand said: "UNIQLO Thailand celebrated its 10th anniversary last year, and through our LifeWear philosophy and corporate activities, we have sought to enrich the lives of Thai people. This exhibition was planned in collaboration with Studio Ghibli to express our gratitude to the people of Thailand for their warm welcome to UNIQLO and to provide an opportunity to brighten up their daily lives. I hope that everyone in Thailand will enjoy the world of Ghibli, which continues to charm people of all generations."

This major exhibition is the first of its kind in Thailand, made possible through cooperation between UNIQLO and Japan's leading animation studio, Studio Ghibli. It features photos of the Ghibli Museum by Thai photographer Kanyada Prathan, and displays with calligraphy by Toshio Suzuki, as well as photo spots with an oversized Totoro and Cat Bus to delight both children and adults.
