FishHouse dives deep into beach house-style dining at Kimpton Kitalay Samui
An elevated reinterpretation of a traditional fisherman’s retreat, FishHouse Restaurant & Bar is set to make waves as the newest seafood-focused dining concept to land on Koh Samui’s pristine Choengmon Beach. Signature fresh-from-the-sea dishes, relaxed afternoon teas and crafted cocktails inspired by oceanic taste profiles are the prize catches at FishHouse, served within a lively yet laidback island setting at the newly-opened Kimpton Kitalay Samui.
“Kimpton is known for creating immersive guest experiences that foster genuine human connections through playful and sophisticated design, which is reflected in our award-winning restaurants and bars. The experience found at every Kimpton restaurant is spontaneous and inviting, with a focus on incorporating local elements – ranging from the décor and ingredients to regional trends and the resort location itself,” said Michael Janssen, General Manager, Kimpton Kitalay Samui.
Perched upon the far boundary where beach meets resort, FishHouse is a shaded beachside sanctuary with exquisite views of the glittering, deep blue sea. Ocean breezes drift through open floor-length windows to brush past reclaimed wooden furnishings and tease fluttering white curtains, luring in hungry diners with tantalising aromas from the bustling fish market-style kitchen. Guests can first quench their thirst with signature sea-inspired cocktails at the feature bar up front, before settling into plush seats as runners seamlessly deliver a steady flow of indulgent seafood plates and platters to share.
In the centre of the restaurant, the spacious Living Room is a modern twist on the traditional Thai sala – an open meeting pavilion. Mornings see the serene venue occasionally play host to Kimpton Kitalay Samui’s Morning Kick Start sessions, where visitors are invited to sample bite-sized treats, a curated beverage selection and a special kids’ menu. As blue skies melt into starlit night, the sala undergoes a gradual evolution into a spontaneous evening dining occasion where diners can share stories and linger in each other’s company over sunset cocktails and intimate dinner platters.
“Kimpton dining experiences stand out because of our team’s dedication to every detail. FishHouse is our tribute to the local oceanic heritage of island living here in Koh Samui, highlighting the freshness of the sea’s bounty within a reimagination of a traditional fisherman’s retreat.
