Awakening Bangkok 2025: Explore Phra Nakhon After Dark Through Light & Digital Art

Awakening Bangkok 2025, the city’s signature light and digital art festival, returns this December with “LOVEVERCITY”, transforming Phra Nakhon into an after-dark playground of light, stories, and shared emotions from 12–21 December 2025.

Now in its eighth edition—and back in Phra Nakhon for the third time—Awakening Bangkok invites us to see the old town through a new lens. This year’s theme explores the idea that love begins in the city: romantic love, friendship, family, self-love, love for place, and the quiet feeling of belonging. Across 27 light and digital art installations, Bangkok’s historic heart comes alive at night—glowing with memories, movement, and meaning.

Awakening Bangkok 2025 continues its mission to activate the city at night—bringing people back to historic neighbourhoods and turning creativity into a driver of the night-time economy. The festival follows the success of Awakening Song Wat 2025, reinforcing Bangkok’s growing reputation as a city that thrives after dark.

“LOVEVERCITY tells stories people can truly connect with,” says Festival Director Pongsiri Hetrakul. “Love can happen anywhere in the city—and it’s what connects us all.”

Four zones across Phra Nakhon

This year’s festival spans four key areas, mixing familiar favourites with newly activated locations:

• Pak Khlong Talat (Pak Khlong Talat, Yodpiman Market, Yodpiman River Walk, Rajinee Pier)

• Sam Yot (Rommaninat Park)

• Saphan Phut (new) (Memorial Bridge, Old General Post Office, King Prajadhipok Park)

• Wang Burapha (new) (The Old Siam Plaza, Ong Ang Canal, Queens Cinema, Hom Prung Café by Bai Hor)

With strong support from public and private partners, Awakening Bangkok continues to reshape how people experience the old town—through light, walking, and shared moments.
