Bangkok World Music Day 2025 to be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025 - One Bangkok  & Alliance Française.

Get ready, Bangkok! On Saturday, June 14, 2025, the heart of the city will transform into a vibrant musical playground as Bangkok World Music Day 2025 brings 10 hours of free music to One Bangkok and Alliance Française. This major cultural event, presented by the French Embassy in Thailand in collaboration with One Bangkok and Alliance Française, promises a day and evening filled with diverse sounds, creativity, and community spirit.

A Day of Unforgettable Music

Imagine: 28 Thai and French artists alongside 10 hours of international DJ sets taking over five stages across the iconic venues of One Bangkok and Alliance Française. From the energetic rhythms of Pop, Molam, and hip-hop to the smooth sounds of jazz and the pulsing beats of techno, the lineup reflects the dynamic energy and rich cultures of both France and Thailand.

This isn't just about the music. Bangkok World Music Day 2025 is a free, family-friendly festival designed for everyone. Expect food markets, interactive activities, and even a busking competition to spark spontaneous creativity and community engagement.

The goal? To bring music to the streets and build bridges between cultures, generations, and genres. It's a powerful tribute to artistic freedom, public access to culture, and the universal language of music, embodying the spirit of "la Fête de la Musique."

The Roots of a Global Celebration

The concept of World Music Day originated in France. In 1982, a survey revealed that millions of French people, especially young individuals, played musical instruments, yet public musical events engaged only a small portion of the population. To bridge this gap, the Ministry of Culture envisioned a bold, inclusive event where anyone could perform and connect with an audience during a long summer evening.

Since its first edition, "la Fête de la Musique" has become an annual tradition, bringing people together in the streets of France for free concerts of all genres. Its popularity grew quickly, embodying accessible culture and the egalitarian values of France. By 1985, the event expanded beyond French borders, now celebrated in over 120 countries across five continents, always maintaining its core principle: an open-air musical event by the public, for the public.

Making 2025 Special

For years, the French Embassy in Thailand has celebrated World Music Day as a cultural highlight, previously known as "La Fête." For the 2025 edition, the aim is to make it more festive and inclusive than ever.

This year marks a special reconnection with the original spirit of "La Fête de la Musique" through a partnership with One Bangkok, a key player in Thailand’s cultural scene. This collaboration allows for a significant expansion of the event with multiple stages and performance spaces right next to Alliance Française, promising a seamless and vibrant experience for attendees.

The event is also teaming up with Polo Ruesz, founder of Live Promotions and a long-time promoter of French talent in Southeast Asia. This partnership between the Embassy, Alliance Française, One Bangkok, and Live Promotions ensures a curated lineup of both French and Thai artists, fostering cross-cultural discovery and future collaborations.

Bangkok World Music Day 2025 is more than just concerts; it’s a celebration of open access to culture, artistic diversity, and shared experiences that truly echo the rhythm and spirit of Bangkok itself.
