Sustainability Meets Artistry at Bangkok's Food for Thought Charity Dinner
'Food for Thought" brings Bangkok's top restaurants and local artists to raise awareness about ocean conservation and promote eco-friendly waste disposal practices
The Food School Bangkok , a unique multinational culinary school operating under Dusit Hospitality Education, the educational arm of Dusit International, one of Thailand’s leading hotel and property development companies, recently hosted 'Food for Thought: A Culinary,’ a six-course dinner and art auction with all proceeds going direct to charity.
Arranged as part of Dusit International’s 'Food for Thought' campaign, which has been specially arranged to celebrate World Food Day and International Chefs Day with a series of sustainability-focused dinner events at selected Dusit properties nationwide – including special workshops highlighting food security, nutrition, and community – The Food School’s exclusive six-course dinner and art auction event will focus on generating awareness of protecting oceans and combating littering – all while celebrating sustainable seafood.
Created in collaboration with Nawa Central Thai Cuisine, Luna by Clara, Tapi Seafood, and Maison Miko, and hosted at The Food School’s vibrant communal dining space, Test Kitchen, the special dinner event will feature signature dishes made by the talented head chefs of each of the participating restaurants, who will each use the finest locally sourced ingredients and sustainable seafood to create exceptional dishes with minimal food waste.
Morning glory with black garlic and jackfruit; Clam with winter melon soup; and Local seabass with baked rice are among the mouthwatering highlights.
Between each course, diners can peruse ocean-themed paintings by renowned local artist Opas Chotiphatawanon in a special sustainability-focused exhibition curated by Maison Miko. The exhibition, 'COR&AL,' will be displayed at The Food School until 30 October 2023.
The Food School Bangkok is located at BLOCK 28, Creative & Startup Village, in Bangkok’s Samyan district. Dinner on 5 October 2023 will start at 6pm and is priced at THB3,500 net per person.
All proceeds from charity dinner entrance fees and art purchases will be donated to 'Trash Hero Thailand,' a local NGO dedicated to protecting sea animals and combating littering.
