A One-Night Sicilian Wine Dinner Lands on Naka Yai Island
Discover a one-night Sicilian wine dinner at The Naka Island, Phuket on March 28, 2026, featuring Feudo Maccari wines paired with a five-course menu at Rum Chapel.
An Italian wine experience is making a brief stop in southern Thailand this March, as The Naka Island, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Phuket hosts a one-night-only dinner spotlighting Sicilian wines and coastal cuisine.
Taking place on March 28, 2026, the event pairs a five-course menu at Rum Chapel with selections from Feudo Maccari, a winery based in southeastern Sicily’s Val di Noto—an area known for its historic towns and wine production.
Founded by Antonio Moretti, the producer focuses on terroir-driven wines that reflect Sicily’s volcanic soil and Mediterranean climate. For this dinner, six labels will be presented alongside dishes designed to complement their profiles.
The menu moves through seafood and meat courses, including king fish carpaccio, Phuket lobster medallions, black grouper, and Australian wagyu beef, before ending with a chocolate-based dessert from Chumphon. The wines range from lighter, citrus-forward whites like Grillo to fuller-bodied reds such as Nero d’Avola.
Set at the resort’s beachside restaurant, the dinner is timed to begin after sunset, with views over the Andaman Sea adding to the atmosphere. While the format follows a classic wine pairing structure, the setting brings a distinctly local context to the experience.
