Following the success of Rangoon Tea House, RTH Group introduces Namsu, a vibrant new Shan restaurant

Get ready, Bangkok foodies! A wave of exciting new flavors is about to hit the city with the grand opening of Namsu, a modern Shan restaurant, the latest venture from the RTH Group, the force behind the popular Rangoon Tea House. Namsu, the brainchild of Htet Myet Oo, promises a vibrant culinary journey into the heart of Shan State, a region where Myanmar, Yunnan province, and Thailand meet, creating a unique and flavorful fusion.

Located on the 2nd floor of Baan Trok Tua Ngork, Namsu is set to open its doors with a soft opening from February 4th to 16th (closed Mondays). This is your chance to be among the first to experience the magic of Shan cuisine, a borderless blend of influences from Myanmar, Thailand, Yunnan (China), and beyond.

Prepare your taste buds for signature dishes like Kengtung Sausage with Grilled Shan Rosti and Roasted Rice Aom with Snails and Yunnan Porchetta. Each dish at Namsu is crafted with authentic techniques and presented with a playful, modern twist, promising a truly unforgettable dining experience.

"Our group is dedicated to sharing the diverse cuisines and cultures of Burma with the global community," says Htet Myet Oo, Co-founder of Namsu and Founder of RTH Group. "With Namsu, from the dishes and beverage program to the incredible design, we're offering our very best."

Shan food

Chef and Co-Founder Honey Rae Zenang, a proud Shan native, brings a wealth of experience from her culinary journey through Tokyo, Singapore, and now Bangkok. "This is an incredibly emotional and powerful moment for me," says Chef Zenang. She's particularly excited to showcase the harmonious blend of Shan cuisine with one of Bangkok’s largest Sake collections, noting the surprising similarities between the two culinary traditions.

The restaurant's stunning design, conceived by Saran Yen Penya of 56th Studio (renowned for his work on the Dior Gold House), goes beyond mere aesthetics. "To me," says Yen Penya, "the design speaks to the resilience and kindness of the people throughout Burma, which I find so badass and very rock and roll."

Don't miss the chance to be part of this exciting culinary debut! Namsu's soft opening, from 5 pm to 11 pm, offers a fantastic opportunity to experience the warmth and hospitality of Shan culture. And to make the experience even sweeter, Namsu is offering 50% off the total food bill during the soft opening period!
