IKEA Thailand Launches Furniture Donation Drive and Free Delivery Service for Flood Victims
Bangkok, Thailand – IKEA Thailand has announced a campaign to support flood victims in northern Thailand. The initiative aims to help people rebuild their homes and restore a sense of normalcy following the recent devastating floods.
Furniture Donation Drive
IKEA is inviting customers to donate furniture and bedding to assist those affected. Donations can be made at the Exchange & Return area in IKEA Bangna, IKEA Bang Yai, and IKEA Sukhumvit from October 1st to 31st, 2024. As a token of appreciation, IKEA will offer gift cards to donors following the company's buyback conditions. All donated items will be distributed to flood victims through the Mirror Foundation.
Leonie Hoskin, Retail Manager for IKEA Thailand and Vietnam, stated: "IKEA believes that home is a fundamental part of life. We empathize with the hardships faced by the flood victims. These floods have caused immense damage and disruption, impacting the lives of many Thais. People need support to repair their homes and rebuild their lives. IKEA wants to offer our moral support and practical assistance to help families recover and make their homes whole again."
Campaign Aims to Raise Awareness
Peerayot Pichitnapakul, Group Creative Director at VML Group Thailand, the agency behind the campaign, explained: "This initiative features a unique approach. We've transformed our showrooms to reflect the stark reality of flood-damaged homes, aiming to evoke empathy and understanding among our customers. We want to encourage people to recognize their power to help restore these homes and rebuild lives."
Free Delivery for Flood-Hit Areas
To further alleviate the burden on those affected, IKEA has announced a free delivery service for customers in Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai provinces. Customers can enjoy free delivery on purchases made between October 17th and 31st for Chiang Rai and November 1st to 15th for Chiang Mai, regardless of whether they order online or in-store.
This initiative demonstrates IKEA Thailand's commitment to supporting communities in times of need. By donating furniture and utilizing the free delivery service, customers can play a vital role in helping flood victims restore their homes and rebuild their lives.
