Thai Airways International launches a new route from Bangkok to Jeddah, bringing Thailand and Saudi Arabia closer together. The route is destined to provide an excellent travel experience non-stop flights to Jeddah, a hub that connects to other key Middle Eastern cities. Allowing visitors to immerse themselves in a beautiful and distinct way of life and culture, the destination also serves as a gateway to important Islamic holy cities such as Mecca and Medina. The first flight on the airline’s new route will take place on August 19, 2022.

Saudi Arabia, officially the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, is yet another Arabian country with numerous tourist attractions. It is a large country with desert covering most of its land and the only country with coastlines on both the Red Sea and the Persian Gulf. The availability of direct flights between Thailand and Saudi Arabia, from Bangkok to Jeddah, makes Saudi Arabia an appealing option for travelers interested in experiencing the local culture and lifestyle.

According to Suvadhana Sibunruang, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI), the airline has been organizing special flights to transport Hajj pilgrims since 2005, demonstrating the two countries' good relationship. "On this occasion, Thai Airways, Thailand's national airline that connects Thailand to the rest of the world, is launching a new route from Bangkok to Jeddah to strengthen ties between Thailand and Saudi Arabia," he said. “We also encourage Muslims to make pilgrimages in accordance with their religious belief, promote tourism to Thailand, and stimulate the economy."

"Jeddah has played an important role in Saudi Arabia's history as it is the main gateway to Mecca, which is one of the most important cities in Islam," said Nond Kalinta, THAI's Chief Commercial Officer. “It is also a port city with stunning natural beauty and a plethora of tourist attractions with breathtaking views. It is also the Middle East's economic center. As a result, Jeddah, like other nearby cities, is regarded as an appealing tourist destination. Tourists can travel to Saudi Arabia in comfort with Thai Airways. Flights between Bangkok and Jeddah will commence on August 19 this year and will be available in both Business and Economy Classes with full service. Every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday, there are four flights per week with a convenient flight schedule."

Korakot Chatasingha, THAI’s Director of Sales, pointed out that the Bangkok-Jeddah route has enormous potential. According to studies, Saudi Arabians' desire to visit Thailand has more than doubled. Similarly, an increasing number of Thais, particularly Muslims in the southern border provinces, want to go on pilgrimage and do business in Saudi Arabia. He said, “Many people are also looking for new tourist routes. As a result, ticket sales opportunities are no longer limited to Thai or Saudi Arabian visitors. Moreover, the opening of this new route will connect other Thai Airways’ routes, including flights from Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, Australia, and South Korea, which transport passengers who all fly to Bangkok and then to Jeddah."

Usana Thongkam, THAI’s Director of Revenue, said, "In addition to safety, comfort, and convenience, the Bangkok-Jeddah flights provide a variety of exclusive passenger benefits. Economy Class passengers, for example, will have a baggage allowance of 35 kilograms per eligible flight (for travel from August 19 to December 31, 2022). For flights between August 19 and October 31, 2022, the Royal Orchid Plus frequent flyer program offers Business Class passengers 1,000 bonus miles per flight and Economy Class passengers 500 bonus miles per eligible flight. These, however, are subject to terms and conditions."

Kittiphong Sansomboon, THAI’s Director of Customer & Marketing, said, “Every flight on the direct route to Jeddah adheres to strict safety standards. With services from the heart, care, and attentiveness, passengers can expect to gain confidence and peace of mind. From ticketing to baggage claim, a wide range of services will reflect Thai values and uniqueness in terms of form, taste, smell, sound, touch, and heartfelt perception. He continued, “Food can be pre-ordered with the Pre-Select Meal service for Business Class passengers as well as Royal Orchid Plus Platinum and Gold card members. Passengers will enjoy the unique flavors of Thai Airways' halal kitchen, which has been certified to HAL-Q standards, ensuring that the entire cooking process adheres strictly to Islamic principles. There are also a variety of beverages available for passengers to enjoy throughout their flight, including the special Black Silk Blend coffee, which pairs perfectly with Kanvela chocolate, served exclusively on Business Class flights.”

“Thai Airways strives to provide a more magical experience for passengers seeking superior comfort through the Royal Orchid Holidays travel program. The tour package goes above and beyond expectations. Visitors will gain a thorough understanding of Saudi Arabia. For those seeking adventure and a broader view of the world, Royal Orchid Holidays also offers excursions to Jordan, Egypt, and other Middle Eastern countries. They will undoubtedly be impressed by the unusual charm and wonder. Thai Airways invites passengers to fly as comfortably as possible to their destinations, with heartfelt service that we intend to provide more than ever.”
